In response to ‘Down by the Salley Gardens’ by WB Yeats. This print was part of our 2015 exhibition ‘A lonely impulse of delight’ WB Yeats 150 Years.
Martin Gale was born in Worcester, England, and moved to Ireland at a young age. He studied at the National College of Art and Design. His work generally responds to the contemporary Irish landscape, and how people interact with it. His paintings often create a dark commentary on rural life in modern Ireland.
