Robert McCormack

Biography

Robert McCormack is an Irish photographer and artist based in county Meath. He graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology with a BA in Photography. He is currently studying at Goldsmiths Univerisity of London for an MA in Photography and Urban Cultures. McCormack works soley with analogue film techniques and uses a variety of film types from 35mm to large format film. Work from his series Blind Spot attempts to represent the hidden struggle experienced by African migrants who work as newspaper salesmen at traffic junctions on the fringes of Dublin city.

McCormack has exhibited widely and has bee shortlisted for the Inspirational Arts Photography Award (2013) and was a finalist for the Fire Annual Photography Award Propreller (2013). He has produced two artist books, Other Castles in 2011, and Blindspot in 2013.
