Biography
‘My motivation is the intrinsic dialogue between landscape and people. How it feels to be present in a certain place and the associations we bring to and take from that place. Through printmaking, books and drawing, I aim to traverse this using intuitive marks which oscillate between the figurative and abstract.’
Australian born artist Danielle Creenaune completed a Bachelor and a Master of Art at the University of New South Wales, Sydney Australia, in 1997. She has lived abroad for the last 17 years, living in London for some years before moving to Barcelona in 2006 where she works in her print studio. Over the years she has undertaken residencies in Spain and Ireland and furthered her interest in lithography through undertaking a summer workshop the Tamarind Institute, USA in 1988.
Her work has received numerous awards internationally including the René Carcan International Printmaking Award 2016 1st Mention in Belgium. Creenaune’s lithographs were selected to represent Australia in the International Print Triennial Krakow 2015 Poland and the Biennale Internationale D ́Estampe Contemporaine de Trois-Rivières Canada 2009.
