collector

25 November – 4 December, 2016

COLLECTOR is the first major exhibition of street and contemporary art in Ireland.

It is a unique collaboration between SO Fine Art Editions and Shaun Davin, and features world famous giants such as Banksy, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Dan Baldwin, Cyrcle., KAWS, Chloe Early, and Conor Harrington.

These names will hang alongside the most progressive contemporary artists in Ireland and the UK; Canvaz, James Earley, Tom French, Carne Griffiths, Sam LeBas, Schoony, and Dave White. Jameson Irish whiskey continue their support of the arts by sponsoring this event, which opens Friday 25th November from 6pm – 8pm.

The group exhibition also hosts a talk by designer and street artist James Earley (see Blooms Hotel, Temple Bar) on Saturday 26 November from 2pm – 3pm. These happenings are part of Dublin Gallery Weekend, 2016, where 36 galleries in Dublin host 55 events to invite visitors to explore Dublin’s art scene.

Street art has evolved across a range of mediums, such as print, stencil and painting. To a street artist, every blank space is a canvas; a garage wall, a digital file, or a sheet of fine art paper. But regardless of the medium, street art remains a creative invasion; it plays with internal spaces and disrupts landscapes. It surprises us, a welcome interruption to our everyday lives.

Let us celebrate this exciting movement and support a generation of new artists.
