James McCreary, And chase the frothy bubbles
SO Fine Art Editions is delighted to announce its first Summer Exhibition, which presents a diverse range of mediums at affordable prices. This exhibition will include over 50 works by artists such as Donald Teskey, RHA, Cliona Doyle, Fergus Bourke, Stephen Lawlor, Taffina Flood, Samuel Walsh, Gráinne Cuffe, Amelia Stein, RHA, James McCreary, Sara Flynn, and Jonathan Hunter among others.
The show features ‘The Bottle Throwers’ by Irish photographer Fergus Bourke (1934 -2004) one of seven works in the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, which records the transcendence in everyday Dublin life. Bourke was the first elected member of Aosdána in the medium of photography. Prominent Irish artist Donald Teskey’s ‘Fractured Shorline’ depicts the dramatic border between land and sea and comments on our observation and interaction with the natural elements. On view are Gráinne Cuffe’s light and airy compositions of large scale botanical etchings. Drawn from themes of childhood and nature Carmel Benson combines figurative and abstract elements and the use of carborundum in printmaking to produce rich velvety areas of colour and texture. A master of mezzotint, artist James McCreary’s luxuriously tonal artworks present Japanese themed ceramic pots with glowing red cherries.
This show is a must see for art lovers and provides a unique opportunity to view a wide range of rich and evocative fine art works by some of Ireland’s leading printmakers, photographers and applied artists.
