All unsold works will be available from our ONLINE SHOP.

In association with CCA Galleries, Dan Baldwin brings his much coveted multi-layered vibrant prints and works on paper to SO Fine Art Editions. Creating landscapes full of nostalgia, innocence, death, love and decay, he integrates the real with the imaginary to form a unique and powerful aesthetic, full of symbols and motifs, recently described as ‘Psychological Landscapes’ by BBC Arts correspondent Maeve Doyle.

His style has won the admiration of serious collectors worldwide including Damien Hirst, Bernie Ecclestone, Max Lousada, Sir Ronald Cohen, Jake Chapman among many others and also led to collaborations with many global brands including Max factor, Sara Berman and Paolo Nutini in addition to artists and designers.

Throughout college he would buy ten sheets of paper, stretch them up on board, and make ten works in that day. It was his way to capture the feel of the day, imbuing the work with a spontaneity, full of emotion and contrast. That love of working on paper has continued and consistently forms a vital part of his creativity. A place for expressing raw moments, experimenting with colour and ideas, both real and abstract, transferring these directly onto paper and often forming the basis for new paintings.

After graduation Baldwin was interested mainly in painting, however in 2005 he was invited to make some prints with Harwood King studios, printmaking then became a major factor in him becoming a full time artist, providing monthly print sale cheques to survive on. Since then he has created etchings, lithos, silkscreens, giclées, wood cuts, monoprints, monochrome prints and gold leaf editions, often layering glazes, diamond dust, collage and 3D media on top of his print surface. CCA Galleries now publishes his prints. For Baldwin “there is a great feeling when making a new print, the toxic smell of the oil based inks, the ritual of signing them – it’s exciting.”

This solo exhibition promises a snapshot into the prints and works on paper of Dan Baldwin over 30 years of creating and we are delighted to host this wonderful work, a first in Ireland.
