Biography

Cora Cummins was Born in Carlow, Ireland in 1973, and studied at DIT and later NCAD, where she received her MA in Fine Art in 2003. Cummins was a recipient of the IMMA Work Programme Studio Residency in 2002. She is a co-founder of Workroom Elsewhere with Alison Pilkington. Through this collaboration, Cummins has curated several projects and exhibitions, including ‘Elsewhere from Here’ (2004) Workroom, Dublin; and ‘All Yesterday’s Parties’ (2005) along with the Workroom Elsewhere publication project The Fold (2007). Cummins’ work contains themes of isolation, retreat from the ideal, and trouble looming in picturesque settings. Her work is in many private and public collections including the O.P.W. AXA, DIT, Northern Bank, National Council for Vocational Awards, Bausch & Lombe and AIB.
