Andrew started his training in the Craft Council of Ireland, Pottery Skills Course. He has just completed his degree at the Crawford College of Art and Design in Cork where he was awarded the RDS National Craft Graduate Award for 2015.
Andrew spent time studying glass in China during his time in Crawford Art College. This has become a valuable source of reference in his work. During his time there he discovered a simple stone case which housed Buddha’s books within. This has continued to conjure questions of how and where he places his object. The use of new materials and the possibilities they can provide are a constant journey of discovery.
“When you stop doing something, it doesn’t mean you’re rejecting it. You’re saying, I wish to take a look round another corner.” – David Hockney.
