Biography
Alison was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1973 and grew up in London, England. She returned to Dublin age 18 where she lived for 8 years, taking part in Artist training courses and group exhibitions as well as working within the bronze casting industry as a wax worker and Mould maker. In 1997 Alison returned to the UK to study Ceramic Design at Central Saint Martin’s College, where she was awarded a place directly into the second year of a three year BA Hons Degree. Since graduating she has worked within the fields of bronze casting, mould making and antique restoration. She now works as a full time Ceramicist creating her own lines of Ceramic homeware and unique Sculptural pieces. Her work has appeared in over 25 magazines. Including ‘Ireland’s homes interiors & living’ on four occasions and more recently a double page feature in ‘Ceramics Ireland’ Magazine. By Selection process Alison’s Ceramics are also profiled on ‘Design & Crafts Council Ireland ‘Portfolio’ directory. The ‘Crafts Council (U.K) Directory and Michel Angelo foundation’s ‘Homo Faber Guide’.
